About the role
SLB is seeking a Senior HSE Specialist to support local management at its Awjilah 103 Base in Libya in building and improving the health, safety and environment culture. The role ensures compliance with company standards, Libyan regulations and industry best practice in a remote field setting.
Main responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the HSE management system at the Awjilah 103 Base
- Conduct HSE audits, inspections and risk assessments, including JSA and hazard analysis
- Develop and maintain HSE procedures, work instructions and records
- Lead HSE training for employees and contractors and monitor contractor compliance
- Investigate incidents, track corrective actions and analyse HSE trends and KPIs
- Liaise with contractors, authorities and regulators
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental science or a related field
- 5–8+ years of HSE experience, preferably in oil and gas or field operations
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and industry HSE standards
- Strong auditing, compliance and training skills
- Experience in remote or desert environments is highly desirable
