These rules are published as proposed rules and may be updated following formal approval by MECSN’s governing body.
General rules
- MECSN has two separate membership categories: individual and business. Each has its own eligibility rules, application and review.
- All applications are reviewed. Submitting an application does not create membership.
- Members must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Members agree to the MECSN Code of Conduct.
- Membership is not a government endorsement, certification or accreditation and must not be presented as one.
- Members may not use the MECSN name or logo to imply endorsement of their products, services or claims.
Individual members
- Work in a relevant corporate security, risk, compliance or resilience role.
- Demonstrate relevant professional experience or qualifications.
- Respect the network’s ethical principles.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding non-public information shared within the network.
- Avoid inappropriate commercial solicitation.
- Respect fellow members and professional differences.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose relevant conflicts when necessary.
- Support constructive professional collaboration.
Business members
- Be a legally registered organisation in a relevant security-related sector.
- Hold applicable operating licences and authorisations.
- Comply with applicable local laws and relevant international standards.
- Respect labour and employment obligations, human rights and employee dignity.
- Follow responsible corporate governance practices.
- Maintain appropriate insurance where relevant to their activities.
- Commit to ethical business practices, fair competition and responsible procurement.
- Avoid bribery, corruption and improper conflicts of interest.
Business membership does not automatically confer individual membership on a company’s employees. Approval does not mean that MECSN has independently audited the company’s operations or verified every claim.
Directory profiles and privacy
- Profiles are published only after approval and with the member’s explicit consent to a public profile.
- Members can ask for their profile to be corrected or removed at any time.
- Application documents are stored privately and are only accessible to authorised MECSN administrators.
Review, suspension and withdrawal
MECSN may review a membership where there is a credible concern that a member has breached these rules or the Code of Conduct, and may suspend or end membership following that review. Members may withdraw from MECSN at any time by contacting us.
